Creed

September 13, 2013

As we go through life and learn more about our faith, it will be tested. The evils of the world will rattle our belief in God. Seeing death and destruction can make God seem like an absent landlord. Or as you study the depths of the faith it can be difficult to maintain the even keel of your faith in the face of difficult questions and mysteries of the Bible. Some have trouble with the violence of the Old Testament, whereas others wrestle with the miracles of the New Testament. Either way, holding to our faith can be difficult in stormy seasons.

Some denominations follow or hold, as their basic truths, simple Creeds. These creeds hold the very base essence of their beliefs. They help keep the believer focused on the foundational issues and allow them the freedom to reach and explore, knowing what the foundation is.

The video below is of Third Day and Brandon Heath covering Rich Mullins song, “Creed.” It is based on the Apostles Creed. Take a moment and reflect on the lyrics of this song. If it fits your beliefs, take time to sing it over and over. Research the Apostles Creed or the Nicene Creed. Learn where they came from and why they are there. Make this an area of research in your personal growth.

Enjoy this video as you worship today!
